CHRIS CORNELL Says Past Experiences Help Keep AUDIOSLAVE Together

Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE vocalist Chris Cornell says that, unlike some other rock "supergroups," there were no concerns about AUDIOSLAVE being able to stay together. Cornell told Launch that the quartet's past histories as members of SOUNDGARDEN and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE helped them become more mature and mellow in their current association. "We all had problems and difficulties in previous bands that we would've had if we were AUDIOSLAVE 10 years ago with each other," he said. "And now we've all sort of come to the same conclusion that we want to do this and enjoy doing it, otherwise we won't do it. We don't get involved in petty ego issues and if we have a problem, we work it out immediately."

Cornell was a founding member and lead singer for SOUNDGARDEN, while AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk all played in RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.

AUDIOSLAVE's second album, "Out Of Exile", is due out on May 24.

AUDIOSLAVE next performs tomorrow (Thursday, April 28) in Boston.
